AFRO 199 Enlightening the Black Collegian 3 hours Instructor Rory James This course examines the Black collegiate experience via campus programming/events, workshops, guest lectures, and film. The objectives of this course are for students to understand theories and practices associated with African American student identity development; to familiarize students with campus resources/services that will benefit their emotional, mental, physical, psychological, and spiritual health; and to participate in culturally enriching activities. This course is designed for those students participating in the 100 Strong Program, a retention initiative of the Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center (BNAACC).
