Exploration of the enigma of suicide, covering its many dimensions including the historical, literary, neurobiological psychological, sociological, cultural, public health, and personal/subjective. Suicide has been studied from each of these perspectives, and while there is agreement that it is a "multidimensional malaise," bringing these dimensions together has been extremely challenging. Explores this challenge through lectures and discussions.

Prerequisite: PSYC 238.
