Topic: POETIC CONSTRUCTIONS AND THE FORMATION OF THE CULTURAL IMAGINARY IN BRAZIL Prof. Eduardo F. Coutinho This course aims at providing a view of Brazilian cultural imaginary through the study of the literary project that has been developed in the country especially from the early nineteenth century to the present and the discourses of cultural identity that have been produced along this period. Emphasis will be given to the reading and discussion of both literary texts and essays written by scholars from different areas who dedicated themselves to the study of Brazilian culture.
