Title: Digital Media and Virtual Worlds The course content will be similar to MS 326: New Media, Culture, and Society, but with a focus on small group discussion with students, additional course content on contemporary digital and Internet culture such as twitter, viral marketing, memes, and social media, and individualized attention to practicum projects that are required in 326. It will be co-taught by a professional technology journalist, Julian Dibbell, who will also talk about how to write about digital media for the public and how to reach audiences and readers using digital media. Meets with INFO 390, section 326.
