Basic Principles of Photovoltaic Energy Conversion This course will introduce the basic principles of operation of photovoltaic (solar cell) devices. Concepts will include basic principles of diodes, design of photovoltaic multijunction and single junction cells, solar cell modeling and simulation tools, and topics relevant to specific technologies such as surface passivation of Si, design of semiconductor doping and alloy profiles, etc.
