Continuation of VCM 637. Covers important medical and surgical diseases of ruminants and their impact on animal health and production. Lectures (2 hours/week) provide information about clinical signs, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and cost of diseases, using a body system approach. Clinical case material and actual herd investigations are used for illustration. Food quality, food safety, animal welfare, and foreign animal diseases are discussed.

Prerequisite: VCM 637.
