Emplaced and Displaced: War, Exile, and Global Migrations in the Ex-Yugoslavia This seminar will explore the construction of ethnic, religious and national identities in the former Yugoslavia in relationship to ancestral homelands, historical battlegrounds, and other sacred places collectively remembered. The physical displacements caused by 20th century wars will also be considered, along with the continuing impacts of globalization on the region, from human trafficking to diasporic return
