Section Info:
Field trip to Arizona and California. The class will include lectures about the regional geologic history of the Cordillera in the United States, and a full week trip to the Basin and Range of western Arizona, as well as the San Andreas fault and Death Valley in California. We will be camping in isolated desert locations for the duration of the trip. The trip assumes a background in geology and is intended primarily for geology majors and graduate students. Prerequisites: At least one 400-level geology course, and permission of the instructor. 4hrs.
