1 hour Topic: Introductory design course with an emphasis on unmanned aerial vehicle. Wings, propellers, and rotors arranged in myriad configurations embodied in modern unmanned aerial vehicles or UAVs will be explored using subscale model aircraft. In this introductory class, students will investigate the fundamental aerodynamics, performance, and stability & control of various configurations. Flying vehicle demonstrations will be presented, discussed, and analyzed with emphasis on design and practical considerations in aerospace engineering. Only one hour of AE 100 will count towards graduation.
