Animal Biology

Credit: 4 hours.

Introductory zoological concepts with emphasis on the diversity and comparative anatomy of animals and the fundamentals of physiology, genetics, evolution, and behavior. Lecture and laboratory. The laboratory includes vertebrate dissection.

Students must register for one lab and one lecture section.

In this lab section we will explore concepts of animal anatomy, physiology, behavior, genetics and evolution, and integrate the lab topic with each week's lecture material, emphasizing current research and relevant health issues. First year Discovery Program course. Registration restricted to freshman. Students should only enroll in one Discovery course.
