Advanced study of a current research topic in social geography. Topic varies from term to term; prepares students for dissertation and thesis research through study of advanced literature and the completion of a research paper.

Prerequisite: GEOG 470 and GEOG 471, or equivalent; graduate coursework in social geography or in one of the social sciences.

TOPIC: Social Vulnerability and Environmental Change: From Analysis to Policy Solutions. Four hours credit. The course is associated with the Climate and Society speaker series. Students will be expected to attend the speaker series on Friday afternoons from 2:30 to 4:00 (approximately one lecture every two to three weeks). On weeks with Friday lectures the Tuesday class will end at 3:30.
