Credit: 4 hours.

Through guided experience, students identify and offer advice to local small business firms; exposes students, serving as consultants, to the wide variety of problems facing the smaller firm as well as enables them to apply current business methods to real problems. Students work in teams.

Credit is not given for both BADM 445 and ENG 465. Prerequisite: Undergraduate, Junior standing; for Graduate students, priority enrollment is granted to students in the MBA program or other MS programs in BADM.

Prerequisite: BADM 395 CRN 54525 or previous project experience through IBC. Titled "Small Business Consulting," this class will combine classroom teaching focused on more in-depth consulting practices as well as participation in an IBC project. This is open to all IBC students who have successfully completed an IBC project. To get IBC approval, send your name and UIN to Illinoisbc@illinois.edu. This course is not required to continue participation in IBC but highly recommended. For students who are not able to take the class for credit due to scheduling conflict, we will continue to offer IBC as a non-credit course. MBA students will be able to take this class for credit once they have successfully completed one IBC project.
