Deals with specific aspects of art collecting practices, patronage, and/or museology. Introduces students to the major debates and history of private and public art collections, origins of museums and patronage, the new museology. Taught in alternate years by art history faculty with different specializations.

May be repeated in separate terms to a maximum of 8 hours. Prerequisite: Graduate standing or consent of instructor.
