Credit: 2 OR 4 hours.

Studies the library's physical plant in the light of changing concepts and patterns of library service; analyzes present-day library buildings (both new and remodeled), and their comparison with each other as well as with buildings of the past; examines the interrelationship of staff, collections, users, and physical plant; discussion supplemented by visits to new libraries and conference with their staffs. A two-day field trip is required.

Additional field trip fee required. GLIS Field Trip $45-55.

(Be sure to enroll in the desired credit amount (2 or 4 hours) for this variable credit course). Meets last two weeks, Tu-F, May 27-30, and M-F, June 2-6. Required overnight field trip June 4 & 5. A $45 non-waived course fee will be assessed to the student's tuition/fees bill for the field trip. In addition, the student will be responsible for meals and one night lodging expenses.
