Credit: 3 hours.

Introduction to materials and techniques involved in the ceramic process. By achieving technical expertise using clay, students can begin to develop a personal artistic language employing clay as an art medium. Students will explore a variety of assignments employing hand-building techniques, as well as investigating various firing processes.

Prerequisite: Sophomore standing or consent of instructor.

Additional Class Materials Fee Required. For Art majors only.
