Interdisciplinary and transnational study of the historical and cultural development of fashion. Examines the social and political tensions embodied in fashion, the fashion industry, and sartorial practices in relation to gender, race, nation, and sexuality.

3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: One course in Gender and Women's Studies at the 200 or 300 level, or consent of instructor.
