Select Greek inscriptions, largely archaic and classical and of historical, religious and linguistic importance, will be read with care. Attention will be paid to their content, language and value in a larger historical context. Students may choose for a report an inscription that is of especial interest to them. The semester paper will be an edition with commentary of the inscription chosen.
