TOPIC: An Introduction to Greek Epigraphy. Select Greek inscriptions, largely archaic and classical and of historical, religious and linguistic importance, will be read with care. Attention will be paid to their content, language and value in a larger historical context. Students may choose for a report an inscription that is of especial interest to them. The semester paper will be an edition with commentary of the inscription chosen.
