Readings and exercises in Mitlesen will be complemented by the discussion of Der Vorleser and of a variety of authentic cultural material from literature, television, newspapers, magazines, radio, and the Web. The aim is to become comfortable in oral and written German through an understanding of the culture of Germany and German-speaking countries. Emphasis on fluency in speaking through regular discussions, listening comprehension activities, in-class presentations, and conversations with the instructor and fellow students.
