Introduction to Programming - A Multimedia Approach Topic: Introduction to computer programming with non-technical focus. Problems are chosen from interesting multimedia application areas, including graphics, picture and sound manipulation, and programming for the web. Most class activities will have a lab component. The programming language Python will be used. Will satisfy INFO 103 requirement for the new campus Informatics Minor. Students should only enroll in one Discovery course. Lab and lect/disc. meet in the lower level of the Siebel Center, room 0220.

Lab section meets in the lower level of the Siebel Center, room 0220. Topic: Little Bits to Big Ideas. This course offers a broad survey of the field of Computer Science for the non-major. Fundamental ideas underlying the nature, capabilities, and limitations of computing will be explored, together with "great ideas" of Computer Science.
