Tensor algebra and analysis; kinematics of continua; mass, force, stress, and the general balance laws of continuum mechanics; introduction to constitutive equations.

Graduate credit is not given to Theoretical and Applied Mechanics majors, except by petition to the Graduate Program Committee. Prerequisite: TAM 251; MATH 241 (formerly MATH 243) or MATH 380.
