Study of the fundamental principles underlying the theory and analysis of reciprocating internal combustion engines, fuels, carburetion, combustion, exhaust emissions, detonation, fuel injection, and factors affecting performance; basic laboratory work involving measurements of effects of variables on performance.
3 undergraduate hours. 3 or 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: Credit or concurrent registration in ME 400 or ABE 466.
