Studies processes involving quantum mechanical energy transfers in energized media leading to various lasering devices and their applications. A series of lectures, supplementing the special projects, offers background information on spectroscopy, collisional energy transfer, laser pumping schemes, modulation at optical frequencies, holography, and other related topics. Senior standing required.

Prerequisite: ECE 487 recommended.
