Instruction, training, and supervised practice in methods of field research as a basic tool of sociology; emphasis on the role of the field researcher as participant, observer, and interviewer in various kinds of research settings, and on approaches to and applications of field data.

3 undergraduate hours. 2 or 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: SOC 380 or consent of instructor.
