Credit: 2 hours.

Lecture and field course will examine use and reuse of natural resources including drinking water, sewage treatment, solid waste (landfills and recycling), energy generation, and industrial production. Students will learn about the usage and possible conservation and reuse of natural resources through weekly site visits to local facilities. Course will meet the final eight weeks of the Spring term.

Field trips required; fees required. May be repeated to a maximum of 4 hours. Prerequisite: NRES 104.

Additional Field Trip Fee Required.

Section SJC: Soil Judging Contest. The course meeting time will be arranged after everyone is enrolled. The course will meet one 3 hour lab period per week, and require students to go to the soils judging contest the week of April 2-9, with no classes after that. There is a $50 fee for travel expenses to the competition.
