Law & Domestic Violence
Section Info:
This Discovery course will provide a survey of how the legal system has been used to attempt to address domestic violence. Some of the topics that will be covered include: the distinction between the civil and criminal justice system; the role of lawyers and prosecutors; and how domestic violence impacts family law, employment law, housing and poverty. The teaching methodologies will include discussion, videos, role playing, and presentations of real problems investigated by the students.
