In this one-hour seminar course, undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty will work together to create a set of introductory, substantive, and engaging activities, each of which is carefully designed to illuminate some area of computer science research for a lay audience. These "excursions" will be used in a variety of contexts, including tours of the computer science department by prospective students, industrial guests, and the general public. Participants in the seminar will take the lead in creating the form and content of the excursions. Students will be expected to meet as a class once a week. Successful completion of the course will include participation in a group project whose product is an excursion, described above.
