Study of theories and methods for analyzing the cultural significance and influence of the content of film and television media; detailed application to one or two particular dimensions of the relationship of screen media to culture (applications vary from term to term and are chosen to highlight current issues in cultural analysis of media). Students are required to view a limited number of films and television programs outside of class.
