This course provides a practical and scholarly background of mediation as a form of alternative dispute resolution. The course will provide an overview of conflict and alternative methods of resolving disputes. The majority of the course will focus on the use and practices of mediation. The course will make use of research in the mediation field, as well as a skills based learning approach. Classes will include simulation exercises, demonstrations, discussions and lecture.
