Using Lego Robotics (grades 4-8) and Vex Robotics (grades 9-12), engineering students work with teams of kids in robotics competitions for 3 to 4 hours per week. The class meets formally once a week where students receive instruction in robotics and team management.

Topic: Leadership & Profl Skill Devel. A mentoring course for freshman and upperclass women in Engineering. Students obtain skills in leadership, professional development, networking, the importance of mentoring relationships, and how to succeed in engineering. Women who have taken this course have a three times greater retention rate. The course meets formally every two weeks and informally on alternate weeks. First meeting is August 23. The course will meet in the Colonial Room in the Illini Union.
