(DANCE 269) Basic analysis of representative pieces from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Modern periods, emphasizing music of the twentieth century. Students learn to recognize general stylistic characteristics of each period and to understand dance forms related to the music.

Prerequisite: DANC 268 or equivalent, or consent of instructor.
