Study of the field of immunology with emphasis on the host's interaction with microbes. Topics will include self versus non-self recognition in the immune system, effector mechanisms of immunity to infection, inherited and acquired immunodeficiencies, and vaccine designs.

Prerequisite: MCB 300, MCB 354, and MCB 408; or consent of instructor.
