(CEE 280) Introduction to geotechnical engineering. Classification of soils, compaction in the laboratory and in the field, soil exploration, boring and sampling, permeability of soils, one-dimensional settlement analyses, strength of soil, introduction to foundations.
Prerequisite: TAM 251
