(VP 393) Concepts and procedures for economically driven decision-making with special emphasis on veterinary medicine. Topics will include: partial budgeting, enterprise budgeting, break-even analysis, decision analysis, production economics, computer modeling and benefit-cost analysis. Published scientific literature will be reviewed to provide practical examples of economic decision-making in optimizing animal health management.
3 graduate or professional hours. Prerequisite: Graduate standing in CVM; VP 650 or equivalent epidemiology course (requires third year standing in the professional curriculum); or consent of instructor.
