(ARCH 172) Integration of formal with functional fundamentals of architectural design; functional vocabulary, principles, and concepts of architectural design; introduction to precedent study and analysis; basic design and programming methods; skills development in drafting, modeling, layout, rendering, and sketching; and creative problem-solving in two- and three-dimensional exercises.

Prerequisite: ARCH 171.
