PHYCS 411. Special Functions and Boundary Value Problems in Physics
Use of special functions in solving homogeneous partial differential equations of physics; emphasis on applications to topics such as electrostatics, wave guides and resonant cavities, vibrations of membranes, heat flow, and potential flow in fluids.
Prerequisite: MATH 280 and MATH 285, or equivalent.
This course may be taken concurrently with PHYCS 413 or PHYCS 414.
1/2 unit.
