AFRST 310. Modern African Fiction

Same as C LIT and FR 310, and ENGL 370. Examines selected major African novels along thematic and formal lines; literary responses to colonialism and political independence and the crises that accompanied both in Africa; and study of critical approaches to the African novel and African characteristics of and contribution to the novel as a genre. Readings in English.

Prerequisite: AFRST 210 or AFRST 222, or junior standing.
