Civic Engagement Seminar

Introduces students to community development practices and the participatory approach followed by the East St. Louis Action Research Project (ESLARP). Detailed information about the course is available at www.eslarp.uiuc.edu. Enrollment in this class requires attendance in two in-class sessions and one outreach weekend. Approved for both letter and S/U grading. May be repeated in separate terms to a maximum of 3 hours.

The outreach weekend date will be determined prior to the beginning of the semester. Outreach weekends begin at 7 am Friday and end by 9 pm Saturday. Lecture will be offered one week prior to the outreach weekend, from 5pm-6:30pm. Discussion will be offered during the week following the outreach weekend, from 5pm-6:30pm.
