Study of major issues on educational leadership and professional development. Examination of research, theories, and practices pertaining to: professional development purposes, content, context, policies, and processes; fostering and sustaining quality professional development; and the roles of teachers, school administrators and policy analysts. Prerequisite: EOL 540 or consent of instructor.

Academic Outreach restrictions and assessments apply, see http://www.outreach.uiuc.edu. This course is for the online Educational Leadership & Policy EdM Cohort 1 and Cohort 2 (Spr 09). Synchronous Elluminate sessions will meet Wednesdays, Apr 14 ? Jun 16; 6:00-8:00pm. The course will also use Moodle. This course is part of a self-supporting program and DOES NOT accept the following tuition and fee waivers (TFWs): Cooperating Teacher waivers, Non-Academic waivers (including UIUC employees and employees of other state institutions), Academic waivers from UIUC, UIC and UIS employees, Related Agency waivers, Field Supervisor waivers or Retiree waivers.
