This course satisfies the General Education Criteria for a
Life Sciences course.Basic ecological principles pertinent to planning and management. Examination of problems that arise from inadequate consideration of structure and function of ecological systems, and approaches to ecological restoration and environmentally sound planning. Applications of principles to case studies drawn from urban planning, natural resource management and sustainable development.
