World Ethnography

This course satisfies the General Education Criteria for a
UIUC Social Sciences course.Study and criticism of ethnographic descriptions of exotic ways of life, both as scientific reporting and as a literary art form. Readings include examples from several major culture areas: Africa, the Americas, the Middle East, Oceania, southern and eastern Asia, and Western civilization. Prerequisite: ANTH 102, ANTH 103, or consent of instructor.
